My Holga 120 CFN camera arrived and I love it. But, my infinity shots are not sharp, I know, it's a Holga, but I'd like the option to soft focus it if I wish, or have it sharp (Holga sharp anyway) at times. I haven't spent much time w/ the camera other than shooting a test roll this morning, which is where I saw that the infinity focus was off. Is there a simple way to reset infinity on this thing? Oddly, there's barely any light leaks, and no vignetting :[

Maybe I can put a too small hood on it to solve the latter. I suppose that using the camera will give me the light leaks soon. Thanks.

Set you lens to landscape icon like here in Holga 120 GFN.

"sharp" and "holga" used in the same sentence.

Amazing.

Try adjusting the film plane, or removing the frame mask.

To test the focus, open the camera without film and apply a strip of magic transparent adhesive tape over the film gate. This has enough texture to function like a ground glass view screen. Then set the shutter to bulb, open it up and adjust the lens focus for the sharpest image at infinity focus. Make a mark of some sort on the plastic lens barrel to indicate optimal focus.

As well as using the "ground glass" /frosted tape focusing check, I recommend taking out the film mask and not using it. Also tape over the side edges with electric tape to provide a smooth surface for the film to pass over and cover the slots.
