My Yashica-12 front-focuses so I want to recalibrate its viewing lens.
The TLR has the tripod socket mounted on its back door.
I need to mount the camera on a tripod with the back door opened and the WLF opened too.
Any idea how to do this?

Thanks!

Why do you need the back open?

I stole this technique from C220 service manual in a recent post here in APUG:

I want to put a focusing screen in the film path and focus at closest (3.5 feet?) with a loupe.
Then I plan to add thin washers under WLF screws until I see sharp image in WLF screen.
During this procedure I might switch to infinity calibration.

Since I'm very much not a handyman I expect many repeated and failed attempts.
That's why I want to have permanent access to both focusing screens.

No. Use the scale on the knob. They're actually quite accurate.
No, unfortunately it's not precise in Yashica TLRs.
The focusing knob is held in place with a brass nut without any restricting guides and the scale will be shifted if the nut was loosened.

You need to secure the camera in some way that doesn't involve the tripod mount.

Can you lay it on its side?
