Hi
Sorry for my English. I hope to be clear.
I'm a newbee about framing. I hope to mount some of my pictures (11X14) on foam core (16X20) in a near future. I have an old Seal dry mount press and want ot buy a Logan mat cutter next month. My question is how to hang these pictures without a frame, I mean a frame all around the mat? I don't want to put the foam board in a frame if it is expensive. Is there a way to put pieces of wood behind the foam board and attach a wire to them? Maybe a very minimalist frame around the board is the only option.
I need advices

If I understand correctly, you want to hang your matted photos without a frame. You could use foam core (as you mentioned) or mat board as the backing. If you're looking for a way to display them temporarily (as in a rotating exhibit) you could put a couple of L hooks in the wall and rest the mat on that. Or a narrow shelf to rest them on.

Foam core may have issues with dry mount press. You may be better off with spray adhesive.. Test first.
