Back in 1980, my studio apartment balcony overlooked a gas station, and there were few used cars for sale there.
Me and my then trusty Nikon FM caught a scene where this older couple spots a used boat of a car, get the burly gas station guy out, lengthy discussion goes on, gestures, kicking of the tires, etc.

So, I have several sequential shots, color negatives, that are really fun, as the action progresses!

How to best arrange, and display, or post?

For viewing as still photography, I would try to select the best 2 or 3 shots as a diptych or triptych. More frames could be displayed as a series of panels, similar to a comic book layout. You could even add captions with something like <Comic Life> but that is getting out towards the edge of photography.

For screen viewing, the slideshow is an option - but posting on a forum like this one, would require first putting it somewhere that can host video - like YouTube. I use <FotoMagico> to make video-slideshows (Mac, only), but there are many other softwares that make slideshows.

Thanks RWS,

No need for captions, the dialog is classically obvious!

Yes to a slow slideshow, YT'd, or maybe a static Flickr series?

For web, if you don't want to make a video, I like the idea of creating one jpeg file that has them all in sequence, to really show that it is meant to be read that way... but then also individual jpegs so that people can click to see the details.

individual jpegs so that people can click to see the details.

This would be my preference, as, even though this is shot at a distance, and two stories lower than my balcony, there are gestures that are fun to see!

For display electronically, how about a pdf file?

One can design a pdf file to display in full-screen mode and to act as a slideshow. You need the "full version" of Acrobat to do this, not one of the free versions.

Make a short film composed of stills with a narration. I think what gives the story its worth in your eyes is that you know what was happening.
If someone was just seeing the photos they wouldn't get the story that you want to tell as much as if you narrated it...
