Be very careful with this. Do not let the sun shine directly into the lens, otherwise you will almost certainly scorch something.

Some of the newer insect traps use a UV light to attract the bugs, Since it's the UV that kills the fungus I'd assume(!) the light on the trap may kill the fungus.

RE: separation, older lenses using balsam glues are prone to it just because they're older, with newer lenses I's suspect impact.
