I was given several packs of paper, and just wondered if anyone could identify the age. Also, with regards to the Kodak paper, what is so special about "Special Paper, PX-3001"? Pics are attached.

Thanks,
Matt

I can't answer your question but if you care to part with the Ilfobrom Gallerie #3 please feel free to PM me.
Thanks, Peter

If - and of course it's a big if - they were all purchased around the same time, I'd guess mid-90's, because Agfa MCC and Ilford MGIVFB weren't introduced until around 1994, and by then Agfa had also begun to distribute the paper formerly sold here as Record Rapid under the name Insignia. At the other end, a quick googling reveals that production of Insignia ended in 2002.

The MGIVFB has likely made a round trip to Japan - it's labeled for the Japanese distributor, Chugai.

Oops - I see you're in Japan. So I guess it was one way... Moosiwake gozaimasen desita...

OK, another update: MGIVRC was introduced around 1994, but as best I can tell from checking my own records, MGIVFB not until a couple of years later. So that would narrow the window a bit.

Oren, Ralph, thanks for all the information! Good enough for me. I wish I knew what the deal is with the Kodak "Special Paper", but I can always find out in the darkroom.

Send me the batch numbers and I will let you know the date of manufacture

Simon,
Why is it not possible to print, a for everybody, recognizable 'Date of Manufacture' or 'Out of Date' on the packages. What is here the secret????
