Can you show us where is cheaper? Here in Germany 2 biggest players are Fotoimpex and Macodirekt, and the prices there are very high indeed.

The person who quoted Firstcall Photographic's price of £208 for 30m of Tri-X appeared to be selecting the most expensive price around. Typically UK retailers who stock that product have it at £110-£120.

Thanks for the clarification. So I presume "we" represents yourself, paulbarden and Kodachromeguy or are there others in the "we"? As someone based in the U.K. I fail to see what the sale at Adorama has to do with the bulk roll premium v cassette prices reflected in the prices of U.K. retailers

Others in the U.K , other European countries and in the U.S. are asking questions about this premium as do I but I get singled out with the accusation of bitching when I point out such things as the fact that you seem to strongly hint at it being Kodak's policy to charge what it does because it isn't interested in bulk rolls sales. The thread is : How much will Kodak film prices increase? Your answer seem to be: they will increase by whatever is necessary and your implication is that is the end of the matter.

OK I accept that is your opinion and that ends the matter for you and you have given me advice as a group, apparently, as to what I should do. Well it may end the discussion for you but does not end the discussion. When I see posts that prompt me to ask questions I will continue to ask for answers.

That's what a forum is about isn't it? A promotion of civilised discussion and seeking answers/ clarification on the whole range of matters photographic

I accept where you stand on Kodak pricing and that you have offered strong advice on what I should do and not do . If you have answers/ information on my questions then please continue to supply such as does Matt King for example. However having given me your prescription as to what I should do then I see no point in any continuation with further prescriptions on your part

I think Kodak will survive. But a troublesome issue might be if production is interrupted because of a lack of chemicals or materials. I wonder how many of these chemicals come from outside of USA? I ordered some more Tri-X 120 (after all, you can't have too much Tri-X in your freezer, can you? ).

Why should production be interrupted because the chemicals come from outside the U.S.? If your worry is the corona virus then unless a large percentage of the workforce engaged in the chemical production are sick then I see no problem. Indeed if the problem is staff absence is there any reason to believe that were the chemicals to be made in the U.S. that workforce could be equally affected?

The chain of supply and delivery itself has many links, ALL of which are vulnerable. I stocked up pretty well in advance for my personal black and white darkroom needs. My freezer already contained a lot of film. But I'm reluctant to do much color work due to likely problems obtaining processing for awhile, and because I'm slightly allergic to RA4 chem that I do myself, and don't want any unnecessary respiratory irritation at the moment.
