How Many Photo Books Do You Own?

Just counted and there are somewhere around 70. Lots of stuff I keep going back to like Weston and Atget and Don Hong-Oai and Kenro Izu.

I have about 50 books, another 25 on the history and another 10 on thoughts of photography and the creative idea.
From what I see I need to catch up with some of you all!

Around 110 to 120. Kenna, Eggleston, J. Sexton, Plowden, Kertész, A. Adams, Newhall, Rogovin (a favorite among favorites), Stieglitz, Shapiro, Maeda, Richard W. Brown, Blacklock (Les, Craig & Nadine), E. Porter, Clyde Butcher (autographed), Brandenburg, Yousef Khanfar and others. Then there are the books from personal friends, Ted Nelson, Howard Bond and Bruce Montagne. My favorite books are from my late-uncle, Fred Hazelhoff. He was a nature photographer from The Netherlands. He wrote me encouraging letters regarding photography and I keep them in the books.

Around 60. Most are by the West Coast School of Photographers - Adams, the Westons, Sexton, Barnbaum, etc.. I keep reviewing them for both inspiration & humility.

I went to Borders today with a 40% off coupon and bought Stephen Shore's "The Nature of Photographs" and his latest book, simply called Stephen Shore. Got them for $24 each. Not bad.

Something over a hundred currently in shelves. Almost all bought from the net. We have one decent bookstore for photo books called Parsons. I wish we had better options - nothing beats perusing before purchase, or a good find initiated from an interesting cover.

Simple answer 10-20 no where near enough, but my wife got a job in a book shop and gets good discount so Ill buy loads.

I've got at least a dozen signed books, yeah. Probably more... the sigs are genuinely for my own interest, I've zero interest in selling any of them and don't care if the editions are more-than-first. Just bought a signed Sarah Moon book last week, probably the only one that I received already signed -- the others I've had signed when the opportunity arose to meet the creators.

Most of my photographers' monographs are first eds, but that's been by luck more than by design. I've got perhaps four autographed volumes - John Dugdale, Kenro Izu, Greg Gorman, and perhaps one other. There's a couple others I'd like to get signed - I'll have to get back up to Baltimore some day and have Connie Imboden sign my copy of her book, and if I ever get the chance to meet Reuven Afanador, I'd like to get his signature as well.

I never looked for signed books but at used book stores you never know what it is until you open it. I recently bought an Ansel Adams, the large Range of Light book, opened it and there was the notice and the Ansel Adams signature. Luck and inexpensive.

I recently bought a Voyage of the Eye copy on eBay and a b u n c h of pages were missing. Now I am going to have to get another copy.

My new addition is Dune EW/BW, I should have gotten it sooner, Hawaii is on the way. I'm a little slow in adding these days. BTW the Dune book is Excellent as in capital "E". Get one if you don't have a copy.

I just discover this thread and have no clue how many books, under the description stipulated, I have, so I think is the time to make an inventory to know how many they are. A guess, round 150.

I love photography books, particularly monographs, but their prices tend to the prohibitive, at least on my budget, so I probably only have about twenty - on the upside, they are all treasured and frequently perused. I have three technical books - two from Ansel's series and Fred Picker's "The Fine Print." Most are first edition, but how many of these ever make it to a second edition? Only rarity is "Garry Winogrand 1964," and it is the one I'm least likely to sell.
