I have about 6 Nikon 35mms. Love the heavy old feel of them. FG20 was my first good camera. FE... latest favorite
i take everyday driving is the N50, gotten for like $20 on ebay. The lenses are way more!
Love to have an F or F2 but costly now.
Anyway, if i wanted to
buy every Nikon 35mm, how many would i have to buy?

Well, I have 4 of them: F, 2x F3, F55. F55 I got for free, it will be gone soon from my collection. I had before FG20, F801s, F50, FE, EM, FG.

F3 is the best for my taste. I have original F mainly to have body that will work all day without problem on winter when is -20C and below.

The only one that I would like to have also is F2.

I have an F3, F100, FM and a D1x... That seems like too many but they all have different features...

Leaving out model variations and special cameras, here is a list of most Nikon 35mm SLRs:

F, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6
FM, FE, FM2/n, FE2, FA, FM3A
EM, FG, FG20
N2000, N2020, N4004/s, N5005, N6000, N6006, N8008/s
N50, N55, N60, N65, N70, N75, N80, N90/s
Nikkormat FT, FS, FTn, FT2, FT3, EL, ELw, EL2 (Nikon)

Did I miss any? That's 42. Some would say it's the answer...

EDIT: forgot the F100. So, 43. Some of these models are nearly identical, though.

Probably more than I should sensibly have ...or realistically need. To wit: F2AS w/MD2-MB1 x3, F2A w/MD2-MB1, F2(DE-1) w/MD2-MB1 x2, F2 (DE1 - no drives) x3, F3 w/MD4, F3HP w/MD4 x2, F4s (my least loved NIkon) and F5 x2. And thinking about looking around for an F3P/MD4 in really, really good shape...

Hey guys, Nikon made some really nice rangefinders cameras, too.

I have the F and a Nikkormat Ftn. That takes care of 35mm for the rest of my life.

Unless a good deal on an F2 comes along........or a nice rangefinder......

My Nikon journey:

FM10. My very first camera, it would still be my main body if it didn't get stolen in LA.

After I lost the FM10, I got an N75; I loved that camera. It's pretty much 100% plastic so it can get wet! It also has the shortest rewind speed of any Nikon which is cool. I dropped it out of the car and it broke, then I took it apart for fun.

After I lost the N75, I got an F4 with the MD20 and an E screen on ebay; it should have been listed as a parts camera because hardly anything worked. I used it for years anyway and took some of my favorite photos with it. I shot my own wedding with it with TMax 400 and a 50mm f/1.8D. My photos were better than the ones taken by the photographer we hired; she shot with a D70, JPEGs only, and set to the wrong white balance setting. Anyway, the F4 eventually stopped advancing the film properly which made it unusable. I still have it and enjoy fiddling with it occasionally.

After I lost the F4, I got an N80 from KEH. It had this weird electrical problem that made it forget it had film in it and it would advance three frames every time I turned it on thinking I just loaded it even when I didn't. I sent it to Mack twice to get it fixed and it came back both times completely unfixed even though they said they fixed it. I hate Mack. I still have this camera if somebody wants it.

After that I got an FM2n. I immediately put an E3 screen in and got an MD12 for it. I never really clicked with this camera and I'm considering offering it for trade. It's not a bad camera at all, but it doesn't fit me for some reason. I had a local shop refoam it but they're assholes, stupid and they didn't do it right. They charged me something like $200. I hate that place.

To supplement my FM2n, I got an F2S. I've got P, G2 and E screens but use the E exclusively. It's got an MD1 which is my very favorite photo accessory I've ever had. I sent the body and prism to Sover Wong to have it overhauled, and then I sent it back to him because it got dropped by someone right after I got it back the first time. Sover Wong is the best; I can't express how great he is to work with, and his skills and knowledge are astounding. The F2 is the best camera for me that could ever be made.

Along the way I also received a brand new D200 with a Katz Eye screen for my first anniversary. I was extremely excited about it at first, but I almost never use it anymore. Still a great camera, but I prefer film.

My first Nikon was the FE, I now have four of them (all chrome). Plus the F100. Had the N80 for a while, but sold it to buy the F100. I've tried different Nikons over the years but have found that I really miss having the FE in my hands so I've never felt the need to buy any others.

And that seems to answer the OP's question!

5. 2x F4, 2x F100 and D700. Resisting the temptation to get an F6 or maybe an F5. Logical brain says 'Don't need..."; Non-logical brain says 'WAAAANT NOWWWW!!!!'

3 n90s' 1 fm-2n, 1 fe, 1 digi, and even though I mainly shoot LF, you just can't beat a good nikon with an 85mm 1.4 on it.

I just have one, it's an F6.
I think it's the nicest one they've made for those who like to shoot film.

Since this has turned into a Nikon fanboy thread, not that there's anything wrong with that!....

I have five: D80 (sorry), F4, N5005 (plastic piece of crap!), N2020, and just got a lovely FM recently. I'm still hankering for an F2!

Nikon fanboy here! (Though I'm a Contax, Rollei and Leica fanboy too!).

I have two F3's and an FM2 (early one with titanium honey-comb shutter! back off!).

Got a slew of older 60's glass too (50/2, 50/1.4, 35/2, 24/2.8, 105/2.5), some gotten for only $15 a lens. Love it all!
