Realized the other day that I had two of every Nikon body I owned...Can't see any reason why this would ever be practical. Time to start selling! I think I'll keep just one F2 (because that's the one I have the most fun shooting with) and my EM (first camera). The black FM was given to my girlfriend who wanted to get into photography so it's still around...

I've seen your post, I'm so tempted in the FE, if I can sell my F100 before you sell your cameras, I will definitely send you a message~ they look great!

They're great little cameras. They do everything you need them to do and nothing you don't. Metering system is simple but reliable as all getout. The one thing I'm not crazy about is the 93% finder coverage. It was HUGE when I bought my first FE because I was coming from the EM but after using the 100% F2 viewfinder I've gotten spoiled.

I'm down to two F6's that keep me happy. I've sold two FM3a's, given away a D70 and in the process of selling a D810. I have other 35mm SLRs that I like to use, but when it matters more that I get the photo than that I enjoy using an old camera, it's the F6 that comes to hand. This summer I briefly and expensively tried to like an R9, but I couldn't do it. Picking up the F6 afterwards was like putting on a pair of comfy old shoes after wearing some horrid new ones that pinch!

I keep ending up with Nikons even though I (originally) preferred other brands (canon, Minolta, leica). Currently FM, FM2n, n90s, n80, n65, nikkormat ft2, fg, fg-20. I think that is it.
edit to add: also a Nikon l35af

2 x Nikkormat FTn (one with plastic tip winder)
1 x F4s (or plain F4 a have both packs)
1 x F3
1 x F100
2 x EM (one silver and one blue buttons)
1 x FM10 (was my brother-in-law's in China)
1 x D70
1 x D200
1 x D700
1 x F65 (actually belongs to my 8 year old son)

I now need an FM/FE/FA/FM2/FE2 as I've picked up an MD-12 but don't yet have a camera for it.

Interesting. Did you begin photography with digital cameras or Canon autofocus cameras?

I ask because an F6 (which I do not own) seems to handle like my D700. It's ok, but I dislike spinning little wheel rims to select aperture and shutter speed. This is why I like my F4s and FM3a with all their dedicated dials and controls. For the same reason, I love my R8.

No, I date back to starting photography in the early 1970's, so I prefer dedicated controls too. But the F6 works so nicely that I'll forgive it for making me spin a wheel!

Nikkormats Ft and Ftn, both with good meters.
F, plain prism plus Ftn finder for macro.
F2 (early 72) with dp11 finder.
One 50 f:2 Nikkor H for each body, plus Nikkors from 20 to 135mm.
Also a 13.5 f:3.5 Nikkor H C for my Contax II.
Camera fairy brought a black F2A body, (Dec. 1979) last month. Now I need another 50/2(ai) or perhaps the 50 1.8 Ai, just to see how good it is.

Thanks! Have also included F HS pellicle, F HS, F2 HS, F3 HS.
I left out F3 Limited since it's essentially a F3P.
Left out military and NASA Nikons.
Left out gold FA, FM.
Left out FM2 half-frame - don't know when it was made!
Probably lots more - year-of-the-dog models, etc.
