2's company, 3's a crowd for me.

Three, but only one in service. My Omega D4 with 50, 80, and 135mm lenses which does everything from 35mm to 4x5 for me. The other two are a Durst J35 which I purchased while I was still in High School back in the 1960's and a Spiratone Doublogram of similar vintage.

I've got two...a beseler 23CIII and a brand new LPL4550XLG VCCE. What's neat is that B&H (as well as Adorama) has been selling the LPL for $1999.95(American) BUT....!!! B&H has just cut the price to $1649.95 and is throwing in an Omega 14x17 four-blade easel for free. I was going to buy the slightly lower level 4500II when the catalog arrived in the mail. WHEW!! I'd have been more than a little ticked off if I'd just purchased the other machine. But I've just gotten the 4550 and couldn't be happier. (As is often said on this board btw, I have no stock or other financial interest in B&H whatsoever.) If anyone's been interested in one of these, now's the time to consider a really good deal. I'm not sure if the new price reflects a current temporary sale or if it is to be the new permanent price.

I have 2 enlargers. First is a 35mm/medium format condensor type for black and white. It was dirt cheap and in excellent condition, and I have enough lenses for it to cover 35mm to 6X9. The second is a 35mm color enlarger. I can't remember what the makes and models are right now and they are definitely not famous or top-of-the-line, but they work and I can move them around the house without killing myself.

Sean - an ULF Pulsed Xenon??? As an enlarger or a light source?? If actually an enlarger, I HAVE to learn more about it.

Would you believe it that I live in a town of 14,000 people and the Fotar distributor used to be based here, until they went out of business a few years ago?

I have a Chromega B that I occasionally use for contact prints or let friends use, a Beseler 23C-II w/ DGA head that does 90% of my work, and the working parts of an Elwood 8x10 slapped on a metal cart, to work as a horizontal enlarger for my 8x10.

I have 3 really bad enlargers: An Omega C700 with a 50mm Nikor lens, it's new and a mate gave it to me, so I am grateful, mind you, it works fine; then there's the silver bullet-looking thing. I dunna even know what it is, but it has the 80mm lens, and yes, someone gave me that one as well. And then there's my old Gnome from the 50's, looks like a big balding head; it'll print up to 4x5. My teacher smiles proudly upon it because it's English, as is he. I'm looking at a Bessy something, but have not yet purchased it.

Just one. A very heavy Durst Laborator 900 with a CLS 500 head. I havent' even used it yet, still have to light tight the laundry.

Just the 2, Opemus 4, condensor 35mm to 6x6 and an LPL 6700, diffuser, 35mm to 6X7.

Cheers

Martin

When I posted previously I had 1.5 - an Opemus III and an in-the-sea Opemus 6.
Now I still have 1.5 - an Opemus 6 and a to be sold Opemus III.
I'm moving to smaller quarters and I really will have to get rid (damm, how do we pick trash!) of things.

Omega D2, Leitz Valoy II. Though I love both of 'em to death, both sit idle in my parents' basement at the moment and probably will continue to do so for another 5 years the way things are going.

I'm sure that many here can relate.
The most expensive and difficult to aquire piece of darkroom equipment is the room. But hey, after that the dark comes pretty darned cheap.

1 x Omega D3 VC, absolutely love it too.

Anyone want a Durst 800 autofocus, auto colourcorrect, auto density, auto make a cup of tea .... auto PITA. going cheap ($500) all 'autos' never used!
'spose it's like asking if anyone is interest in an old model 'Coopix'.

Well I was down to three enlargers, sold two of 'em. So I just had my trusty D2v for about three hours and then I won a huge auction that had THREE more enlargers in it. So I'm back up to 4 for right now, but will be reselling the new three as soon as they arrive. Phew! pretty crazy for a guy who is only contact printing for the forseeable future!

Just 1: Beseler 67 with color dichro head. 4 enlarging lenses though... El-nikkor 50mm f/2.8, Fujinon EP 50mm f/3.5, Fujinon EP 135mm f/4.5 and a Computar dL 80mm f/5.6

2 Meopta enlargers and four lenses. Both will take 35 mm. and one will also take 6x6.
Furthermore (although not an enlarger) I use a Jobo processor for color work.

An old thread retuns to life, as all old threads must do someday - it did take a couple of years though.

I've got an Omega 4500II color enlarger, minus the base board. It has been in a box for 8+ years or so, so I don't know if it even works or not.

I have just 1 enlarger.. a Dust S45. I have a full set of condensers and the following lenses 50mm Apo Rodagon, 63 mm N El Nikkor, 105MM Rodagon, 135mm Rodagon. I have a regular condenser head, a point light source system and an cold light system. I have a full set of metal masks. I have a Condit oil immersion, pin registered carrier and regular and a vacuum easel. This is certainly all the enlarger I can use.

I find it hard to understand having more than 2 enlargers.

I have a Agfa Varioscope 60 6x9cm enlarger I paid $8 for, wich I don`t know anything about. Anyone used one?
I`m about to try it for the first time any day now...

I looked back and noticed to my great satisfaction that there is no change. But the last time I posted here I inadvertently overlooked the disjointed heap of glass, metal and wire that is a partly rebuilt Rajah 4x5" enlarger.

So it's still 2 (and lots of fractions, but a lot less than 3).

I'm glad I wasn't asked how many cameras I own, or LF lenses...

Had I caught this thread originally, I would have said zero.

Since then, I have obtained 6x7, 6x9, 4x5 and 5x7 enlargers. Total price paid, $40. I gave the 6x7 and the 4x5 to others.

I did replace the lenses in the 6x9--50mm EL Nikkor f2.8 for $22, and a Schneider Companon 105mm for $20. Plus a glass 6x9 carrier, $40, and a bunch of glassless carriers of various sizes for about another $20 total. So, I have more money in lenses and carriers than in the enlargers.
