Well, I had 3, and then I get a call from a relative this morning who has one they do not want anymore so is bringing it over for me. Now I'll have 4:
- an ULF pulse xenon
- a zone VI 35mm to 5x7 cold light enlarger
- an lpl 35mm to medium format color enlarger
- and now an agfa b&w 35mm to medium format

I'm starting to feel like a foster home for enlargers. I guess since I have the room, keep em coming..
Is it an Agfa66? Those are excellent.

I have only had one, a Durst M70 with colour head, awesome for my needs.

Its now become 2, a little LPL 3301 is on its way to me. I’m planning to use that one as a copy stand.

I’ll give LF a go when i can ever find a 4x5 enlarger. Not the easiest things to find here in Australia.

Sold the CLS color head and bought a DeVere 5108. Just have this and one of the LPLs set up the others in storage. Really only use the DV.
To revive and old thread, picked up a second DeVere 5108 with a closed loop head that my lab was going to junk Have it in storage. Figured I'd use it for parts unless someone really needed it! Would love to re-home my LPL XLG 4550 or whatever it's called! I think I'm up to 6, two DV's, two LPL's the Durst SM-183 and the Valloy II, although only two are set up; the one DV and the smaller LPL. Use the DV for MF up to 8x10, have the LPL set up for 135 and MF. The Valloy if needed, can be set up on short notice as it's quite portable.

I am up to four now. Well five if you count the Durst portable thingy that is in a box somewhere (If anyone wants a deal on it..). Saunders 4550, Focomat 1c, Focomat 1a (storage) and a Minox I picked up a month or two ago.

I saw a DeVere the other day that was local. Had to stop myself...

Since my darkroom is VERY small in my VERY small bathroom, I only have one machine setup, it a huge Durst 1000 (4x5") and I am amazed that it actually fits in there, my other one is a Durst 670 color but it's upon the attic right now.

2. One a LPL 7700 and a Meopta Opemus standard. but due to lack of space only one is in use usually it is the LPL because I print colour. Occasionally I dig out the Meopta when I want really crisp monochrome which the Meopta gives because of the condenser optics.

Be careful with attic heat and enlarger parts and bellows. I keep my spare enlargers in an air-conditioned room or in temperature controlled storage. L

I own more enlargers now than when the thread started and I first replied.

I've given 3 away for free, got two back from one person who had one of the free ones, Salvaged two from the skip (dumpster0 now used in Ireland for workshops. Currently I have five set up in my darkroom, plus two spares. In my house I have an Ensign King horizontal enlarger (pre WWI) with condensers for Quarter palte but it can do 5x4 with the right condenser set, plus a Russian suitcase enlarger to restore (case needs restoration not the enlarger - this is free if anyone wants it :D

Ha. I see that my earlier answer was zero. I was contact printing only with a light bulb. I’ve since picked up a Beseler 45MX. Now if only polywarmtone paper would come back.

I keep three on my eight foot bench, A Valloy II, a large Omega "E" with the Circulight Head, with a large yellow gel filter between the light and the condenser, and a large Omega "D" Prolab with the stock condenser head.

I have a "E" sized Chromega color head and power supply, which I found here, when this forum was APUG,org, but it needs some work and I have yet to find out how much that would run.

If I ever do get it running, or find a working head, I'll pull off the Circulight head and retire that one for good.

Each enlarger has it's own uniqueness, which is why I keep the Vallow II on the bench, instead of using the "D", with it's condenser for 35mm.
e
The "E" and the Valloy have three centimeter thick, granite base boards, for extra stability, and I I had the monies/space for the darkroom I'd want, I would also use a ten foot, granite bench top as well.

I've had other enlargers, the 23C xl, Durst 60's, smaller omegas, etc, and worked on other large format enlargers for clients, in the way back, but the Valloy and large Omegas are the ones I really like, though I sometimes miss the motor of the twin column Bessler 45.

A Beseler MX 45 that is a former police enlarger and a Elwood 5X7 that I need to patch pinholes in the bellows. Total cost for the two turned out to be $30 plus 45 for another lens for the wollensak. For the 4X5 I was given Schneider , think it is Companar S ( the more expensive line) in 50, 80, 135 and 150mm focal lengths. Digital has been good to me.

I was contact printing only with a light bulb.

This brings back memories of when I lived in another town but spent a lot of time here in the city, shooting dancers, ballet and Modern Dance, and how I would come to our family home, instead of the, then, long road to my home and my darkroom.

The family house has a two door laundry room/closet and there was just enough space to put three 8" x10" trays on top of the machines, plus a contact printer and pack of paper.

I'd load the contact printer in the dark, I may have been using a mini-mag flashlight with a red filter and gave the dangling bulb on a wire a yank and several seconds later I'd pull it again and, plop, into the developer, stop, fix.

Washed the papers in a bathroom sink and out the door, back to more dancers who were quite happy to model and make the same leaps, hops and twisting turns I asked for.

Cool times and great fun and gas saver, I got some amazing shots for my portfolio and a free invite to the two troop'
s performances.

2, not in use for now. After moving 15 years ago I have not set up a new dark room. Still process film though table top.

A Patterson PCS 2000 was set up to do 35mm
A Vivitar VI that I had set up for 6x7

I hope to get back to using them when I make my next/last move.
