How many cameras has been sold in 2005

Hi folks!
Just found an interesting figure on german Color Foto Mag!
They stated thad in 2005 are 130'000'000 cameras almost 100'000'000 digital sold and still a bit more then 30'000'000 Filmcameras and both together is a highest ever.
So they still need some films for quite a while!

Maybe someone can find an alternate source that breaks this down a little more. I'd like to know how many of the film cameras were single-use cameras.

Actually each camera will either have a built-in shutter or the lens will be in a shutter. Shutters can be as wildly inaccurate and vary as much as any light meter.
There are some fairly elaborate ways to "standardize" and find out "your personal film speed" and then shoot, print, and develope accordingly but many photographers, thanks to eBay, have far too many cameras and lenses in various states of repair to make a complete standardization possible. In this case, we must be grateful for Polaroid film for its ability to help us expose our films a bit more correctly. Bracketing also helps!

I see your point, but I would draw a distinction between truths and facts: two sets which only occasionally intersect.
