It was shipped from turs in germany in june of 2004. Just wondering how long it would last in cold storage? The paper is Tura b&w vc gloss (high speed VC 11 PE) In 16x20 and 20x24 if that makes a difference. Thanks Lyle

Bought some Agfa RC paper in May this year. The box says: Develop before Oct 2006.
Hope that is not true.
On the other I just used up some paper of over 10 years old, again Agfa RC, and it is still good.
Puzzle, puzzle, puzzle

I'm still using AGFA MC FB for my ongoing portfolio project. A package that was dated this past September is still good. And despite all the claims I hear, I've never had problems. But that doesn't mean I will want to keep the paper longer than expected.

The good thing is any package that's past the expiration date goes on a bargain sale in a shop where I buy, and right now AGFA has a good value for that.

My next choice will be Fuji Rembrandt graded paper (, or Ilford if I can still afford it).

Forever, really!
I don't have the foggy ist idea, I bet Michael Smith would know. He has a walk in freezer and is careful about his product.

I just shot a roll of Agfa 400 and developed it and it was... well... shot. High FB+F I have a dozen rolls of it and was saving it for something important.

It goes to show how you might want to roll with the times and the problems with trying to stop the Earth or turn back the clock.

I have a bunch of Panatomic-X Agfapan 25 all of it in my favorite 120 roll film size.

I just ordered some film from JandC and the Adox 25, which I developed this evening was as good as anything I used 30 years ago. First roll was in Rodinal 1:75 12 minutes. I won't even try to use the paper I horded away years ago. Time is money.

I love Agfa MCC, but once my current box is gone, I'm not going to be buying any more. The local photo supplier has hundreds of boxes on the shelf, but that's their bad luck.

I'll be replacing Agfa MCC with Ilford MC IV, and supporting a supplier committed to B&W.

Graham.

Anti-fogging agent.

When I attended our local arts school for night classes in advanced darkroom techniques the instructor was kind enough to give the students a special "code number" to allow us access to the schools supply store. I purchased 4 boxes of Ilford MG paper (2 semi-matt,1 glossy and one postcard). The price was right, 1/3 that of the local photoshop.
I have kept the boxes unopened, triple wrapped in plastic and in the freezer.
My question is: If,by any chance, small amounts of fogging do occur when I develop the paper can anyone tell me the "brand name" of the chemical I would add to my developer? I searched the forums and found mention of KBr or Benzotiazole.

Thanks Much,
Mike
I should add that the paper was super fresh and it was 3 years ago.
