I'm looking to purchase either the 10 L or the 50 L Pyrocat from Formulary. My PMK from them lasts forever in the original container. How long does the Pyrocat last in stock form?
Thanks!

Eric,

Did you email Bud at formulary and see what he had to say...I am sure he would give you the scoop on how long it lasts, Bud is a pretty up front and straight forward guy.

If the PF is mixing part A with ethylene glycol, which I think they are now, it should last indefinitly much like HC110 does. Mixed with plain water part A will easily last 6 months to a year by my experience.

Contact PF and ask how they mix part A.

I mix my Part A Pyrocat in Propylene Glycol and it lasts indefinitly. The same is true for mixing it in ethylene glycol.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for correcting me. Propylene glycol is what I use also.

Eric, the kit I buy from Formulary is in the 500ml bottles (don't know the actual kit size, wish they would just label as the stock, not the total amount, too confusing). I know it lasts about a year, as this is what I buy each year for my needs. I guess it is the 50L size, if they are using 1:1:100 (which I don't), still on the 1:1:150 dilution and am very pleased with results (75L?). Best, tim

You can get Pyrocat HD from the Formulary mixed either way. I get mine mixed in the glycol though I haven't had any long enough to worry about keeping properties.

I always buy two kits. After first kit has been used (about a year) I opened second kit and developed three rolls of 120. Well the water when I dump solution out of the tank is straw color instead darker brown the negative has light brown stain with more base fog then normal?Anybody can tell me what happened? I been using Pyro-HD no for two years with excellent results. Even closed bottles with no air have a one year expiry date? Never happened before.I am afraid to use it now not knowing what kind of result I am going to have
Thanks in advance

Greg
