how far can I dilute HC110

I use HC110 and tri-x 8x10 in a jobo 3005. My current dilution of 1:75 oz from concentrate has my development times around 8 minutes. I want to know if HC110 is still good if say I diluted it out to 1:95 oz from concentrate? Thanks in advance.

People often use it at higher dilutions. You do need to be sure that you have enough concentrate for the film area you're developing.

Probably as far as you want to go and still maintain reasonable development times. One other note, though, you still must maintain the recommended 6ml of concentrate, so 1:100 requires a total of 600ml of stock to properly develop 80 sq. in.

I use 1+100. 5ml + 500ml. I soup 120 in it and get beautiful results.

I use 1+100 for dip-n-dunk of 4x5 ortho. Impossible to over-develop...I'm still not entirely sure whether I'm hitting some development wall or if I'm getting exhaustion, but I'm going for 12min @ room temp, a little agitation once a minute.

I just signed up wit APIs and this is my first post. I just started using Jobo to develope five sheets of 8x10 at a time. How much hc110 do I need? How much time and what dilution? Thanks

Michael,
You need enough solution to process 5 sheets of 8x10, however much that is. Each sheet of 8x10 is 80 square inches, and you want to develop 5 sheets at a time. 5 sheets * 6 mL/sheet of stock means you'll need a minimum 30mL of HC110 stock to develop your 5 sheets. You'll have to add water to it, of course, to give yourself enough volume of working solution to develop the 5 sheets in your Jobo, however much that is (your Jobo tank should tell you).

'Not using tubes - jobo etc, but my std. use of HC-110 for semi-stand is 1:150 from U.S. concentrate. For my use, it seems to be right on the edge on not enough concentrate. If I use 2ml concentrate & 300ml distilled water, the negs are a bit flat. If I use 4ml concentrate & 600ml water, they come out normal. My tank (Patterson IV) requires only 300 ml for a single roll of 35mm, but that's what gave me the flat-looking negs. 35mm & a single roll of 120 using 600ml works quite well at 1:150.

I've had good luck with 1:60...5ml stock to 300ml water for a roll of 35mm.

There's a few of us here that get good results with what's lovingly called "Dilution H". John Bragg turned me onto it and I've used it ever since.

That's for 400 speed films like Tri-X and especially HP-5.
