Still loving my FE but I am eyeing a Nikkormat FT2 and a Nikon F3HP. Help me someone. GAS (at least I am cured of the Leica expensive GAS)

I'll help: get an F2 Photomic instead!

I like Nikons because they just get on and do the job without problems - I still have three of my Fs from my commercial studio, but now have a couple of Nikkormats which I use for 35mm work - The F was the best camera Nikon made and the Nikkormat was the best offering from Rikoh

(Nikkormat was originally the Ricoh Singlex, taken on and re-badged under the Nikon name)

Been there. Too bulky.

Yeah, I guess so. I have fairly large hands and do not mind some additional weight vs. the F2, which I consider the "Leica" of the Nikon line. After using FM2, FE2, N70, F80, and a couple of F3 through many years I was not prepared but just how wonderful I found the F2 when I bought one on a whim a couple of months ago. The workmanship of all mechanical body, the shutter sound/feel, the whole she-bang, has pleased me to no end and unlike any other camera has in many years short of my Leica MP in over 32 years of using cameras. Thus my suggestion...

Canon FD-mount systems are pretty good value if you ask me..
My AE1 looks a state but works perfectly, so it was cheap, and FD lenses are some of the cheapest there are.

For $100 more, get a F3. 100% viewfinder, 1/2000 second shutter speed, manual mirror lockup, handle incorporated in body, better viewfinder, pro build and fit in small light package.

I've a FE, F3, F4 and F5, however, F3 is the one I use most.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I do not particularly like my F3HP. I find the light meter indicator very difficult to see and use. I have to shift my focus from the scene directly to the indicator in order to read it. Very annoying.
