How about using C-41 fix for E-6?

I do a lot of E-6 (of my own shoots) in my sink-line 3.5 gallon processing set-up. I normally mix up E-6 fix for the short 2 minute fixing time. I used to do a lot of C-41, but that abruptly stopped a couple years ago leaving me with a lot of C-41 fix concentrate. Can I use this for E-6? All my chemistry is Kodak brand.

It will work just fine: C-41 fix is actually stronger than E-6 fixer, in fact.

For bleach, the reverse is true.

Just don't use the fixer for B&W film or paper after it has touched color film of either type...

Check the MSDS for both fixers and see if they have roughly the same concentrations (within 10%) and the same major ingredients. Check for proprietary ingredients.

If they differ considerably, or have extra ingredients, then you cannot interchange them. That is about the best I can say to help.
