I've been using my sekonic L508 up until now when using my fuji gw690, but it tends to slow things down a bit particularly for a grab shot. I've been wondering about a hot shoe mounted meter. From researching on the forum and the web the choices seem to be the Gossen digisix, the sekonic L208 or the Voigtlander vc meter . Each seems to have its own foibles according to reviews I've seen on line, just wondering if owners could give me their thoughts on these meters and which one is best

I use the Voigtlander VC II meter. Fits perfectly, works great and looks like it was designed for the Fuji.

I use the earlier and slightly smaller VC meter and like it a lot.

The new CV meter ll is thinner, which is the critical dimension for something to slide into a hotshoe.

Basically one can cement a cold-foot to any small meter.

So far the CV 1 fits fine in every shoe I've tried except for the Leica VIOOH finder which requires more foot height clearance relative to the bottom of the meter body. The Leicameter III suffices for that. An accurate Leicameter could be a decent alternative for the OP's need...

My thoughts as well. I have a Leica Metraphot 3 that works like a charm and is smaller than anything else i've seen.

There are a variety of shoe mounted meters from the '50's. I have several of these selenium meters and they work very well, and experience has shown they are more dependable than CdS meters. Look for one that works as they can be (but fairly rarely) duds.
