For Sale Horseman Convertible 6x9 Medium Format camera

FS: Horseman Convertible 6x9 medium format camera. This camera has a fixed lens, a 62mm f5.6 Horseman lens, presumably made by Topcon, in a Copal #0 or #00 shutter. The camera has a peepsight type viewfinder shown in the pictures, and is scale focusing only. It does have an excellent depth-of-field scale on the lens barrel. Included are two Horseman 6x9 roll film backs (the older, more robust version), as well as a 65mm viewfinder from an old Mamiya Press camera/lens. The cold shoe fit for the 65mm finder is a bit tight but workable. Unusually, the roll film holders are intended to be used with the advance lever mounted below, since it will foul the peepsight if mounted in the usual fashion. The camera itself is basically a spacer with the lens and shutter mounted on it. It is built like the proverbial tank, very solid. Condition of the kit is used (very), as you can see in the pictures. I'd rate it a 7 or 7- of 10. Everything works, and both the backs and shutter had CLAs shortly before I purchased this earlier this year. The cocking lever and release lever which are on either side of the lens operate very smoothly, and the shutter is nearly inaudible. The lens is quite sharp, but is single coated and is not as (micro) contrasty as a modern multicoated lens. This is an uncommon camera, and normally sells for a fraction of what its modern competitors sell for. Asking $500 + shipping/insurance.
