Beautiful. Best in black and white. I have a friend has a Honda from late 70's, it has a straight 6 with a carburetor for each cylinder. He bought it new, restored it to showroom a couple years back. I need to get some shots. In high school I was in love with the CB 350.

That'll be the CB1000, like you say, 6 cylinders and a 34 or 36mm Mikuni carburettor for each cylinder.....what a beast that was !!

Agreed with mshchem, I think B&W works nicely for this. The metallic colors of the CBs are great but sometimes a distraction as well. I feel this captures the "UJM-ness" of the CB750 which set the standard for form over 2 decades.

I'm 2 hours from Barber Motorsports Park and the museum there. Between the museum and the Vintage Festival every year I'm spoiled when it comes to worthy subjects, the downside being all the machines are often close together. Looked back at my own CB750 shot and there's a Suzuki GT behind it. Was this taken at some event or did you arrange the shoot and pick the location?

Well if I can judge the success of a motorcycle pic by it's ability to make me want to ride again, well damn that's a fine image.

It's a great pic of a classic era of motorcycles. My Honda was from the next generation, an '80s V65 Magna. Fun, but the design hasn't aged as well as this 750.

I used the RZ67, 110mm 2.8, Ilford Fp4, Kodak Xtol

I rode a restored model a year or so ago and it was nice.....but that single front disc is so poor compared to modern versions.

In 1970 I bought a CB350 when I should have bought a CB450. Shortly after that the 750 came out. Then I got married and the whole motor cycle thing got killed off.

Beautiful bike, but too big for me. My 82 Kawasaki KZ305 blew a head gasket this year and I cant afford to fix it and I sure aint doing it myself. I'm sad.

I hope you're able to get it back up and running so. I have to do all the maintenance myself. It's easier than I thought.

i hope so too. I've learned to clean the carbs, do brakes, set the valves and timing, and I replaced the belt drive with a chain. But the head gasket is a different ball of wax, and thanks to listening to some bad advice I also ended up breaking off 2 of the head bolts. Its all 100% fixable, but not by me. I consider the inside of engines a do-not-fly zone. Unfortunately it would cost twice what I paid for it to fix so it wont happen anytime soon. But I'll either keep it till I can afford it or pick up another bike of similar vintage. I had never ridden before 2010, and I'm addicted now.
