hello

I have been trying to emancipate myself totaly from the already made off the shelf chemistry and i´ve alredy made it happen, except for the case of the wetting agent, i already do my own color stabilyzer and systan, but i have been trying to solve the problem of the wetting agent contained in them, i usually use photo flo or tetenal mirasol (which i prefer because it has anti fungal and anti bacterial properties) but i would like to make it myself with some raw chemicals, i found this formula but not being a chemist i would like to know if some of you could approve and help me with dilutions.
here it goes

Propylene glycol ....................... 250 ml
Triton X-100 ............................ 75 ml
Distilled water to make .............. 1.0 l

i also would like to know how to include a anti bacterial and anti fungal property

thanks

Alcohol for the anti bacterial/anti fungal properties? Couldn't begin to tell you how much, but I don't think you'd need very much.

This may be too simple, but don't many use a drop or two of dish washing detergent instead of Photo-flo ?

NONONONONONO. Don't use dishwasher fluid!

Photo Flo has no dye, no scent and is non-ionic. Dishwasher fluids contain dye, scent and are often ionic (most are alkaline).

The formula looks good to me. Use formalin as a bacteriostat or use Benzoic Acid. (about 1 g/l) Either as the acid or as Sodium Benzoate.

I have more photoflow than I could use in a lifetime (and I do a lot of film). I have found that it makes a great surfactant to getting weed and grass killer to stick to the plants. I use about 3ml/L. or in my own backwards way, I drop 10ml/Gallon.

Isn't Edwal LFN contain some sort of alcohol?

Could a small amount of thymol be added to the concentrate. It is used as an antibacterial/anti-fungal.
