Hey you got laid, its a wonder you haven't done it again. I holga occasionally but the only place I ever woke up in was a darkroom alone.

However, I must confess that I nearly fell of the wagon when I recently put in a low-ball bid on eBay for an Agfa Clack.

I doubt a Clack would renew your Holga/Diana jones -- it's a high guality simple camera, renowned for putting a good image on film relative to its price; it's got little plastic in it (the lens/shutter mount is just about it), shoots 6x9 on a curved film plane, has a tripod socket and cable release point as originally built, and (IMO) is too good a camera to convert to pinhole...

OTOH, it's probably safer not to find out...

That is fun, isn't it? It sure beats some of the box cameras that have such small knobs and you grind your knuckles against the bakelite while advancing the film.

I'm Heli, I'm from Finland and I'm a Holgaholic (so that means I'm a freak, stupid or something like that..). My friends are called Helga and Olli. Please, I do not need anyone to save me. My hat is not so tight. And I don't want to be anonymous . And because I'm a real holgaholic, my love to my Holgas will never die.

That it.

:D

I think I might be falling for a Holga, I've just received one I bought from eBay a few days ago! And a Lomo Fisheye camera, which I've just put a roll of FP4 through a couple of days ago. Think I'm gonna be hooked >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I only recently found out what a Holga is, but if that's the effect they have I don't want one, I've been sleeping with a strange woman for years.

I'm going to buy a Holga for my trip to Cabo...if I can get the genius that runs holgamods.com to stop warning me to send proper shipping $$ and tell me how much that *is*.

So I'll get a Holga, some 120 stainless reels, a negative carrier, some film...and hit the ground running. I'm kind of jazzed about it.

I want to be comfortable enough with my Holga to take it with me to Cabo in June. When I found out that I was going there, my first thought was how will I be making photographs there. I only considered the 4x5 for a moment. The desire to make interesting pictures and the traveling issues led me to the possibility of pinhole and then to the Holga. I'll take the Holga, a cable release, a cheap tripod, some filters, some film, a light meter and a changing bag...very light kit. I'll bring the film in a ziplock in carry on and make a situational judgement about asking for a hand inspection.

I'm considering getting several Holgas for two reasons. First, I could avoid reloading in the field. Second, it might be noce not to have every print show the same set of optical anomalies...then again, the opposite could be argued.

My Holga has no light leaks...

WHAT?!?!?! You need to ask for a refund, then! I was afraid mine would not have any because it was a mod by Randy Smith, but thankfully, it enjoys severe vignetting and considerable light leaks. Maybe you should drop it a couple of times? Or attach the back the wrong way around? Can be done! :D

I've a hard time to stay faithful here - my two Diana's probably wouldn't appreciate me cheating on them with Holga. But the new chick is oh sooo tempting ... maybe just a little secret affair ... just me and Holga ... I mean, she's a comparable cheap girl for only 20 bucks ... and even if Diana or Diana 2 find out, they are way more mature and understanding ... :D

I do miss my Holga which melted on a fateful day when the temp reached 129, however, I can discreetly slip my Holga filter onto my 80 or my 250 and with a 2x, can have a 160 or even 500 Holga. I wonder if this breaks the rules? Will the art galleries that will soon be groveling for my work be asking how "The soon to be ultra chic photographer" got such a diverse body of work with a $20 plastic camera with a 60mm lens? Hmmmm.....

Don't leave it in a closed truck when it's 129 degrees. I don't think it gets as hot in Cabo as it does here.
