Hobo style 8x10 camera for portrait work ?

In my search for drawings on a Hobo style camera I read somewhere that it is most suited for landscapes. I was thinking about if it possible to have a special setup that would be suited for portrait. With a shallow depth of focus and a focus point in a range that will fill that 8x10 frame with the subject.

Why not look at portrait cameras? You don't need alot of focus range but you'll want some. Aren't much more complicated then a Hobo
