'zackly my thought re that camera--what's the value proposition? Kinda makes me want to invade Poland or something.

Prob'ly 'nuff said given that this is A-PUG and not D-PUG!

Pretty childish.

There are people really upset with Nikon's pricing, as if a camera of this quality must be given away.

I don't get all the complaints. It's as if all the photographer who need the biggest and newest to prove their ability as a photographer are throwing a tantrum that they can't afford the D3X. This stuff isn't a personal status symbol; it's just gear for a particular job. If you don't need it, don't buy it.

Yes, the last request makes it APUG-friendly. No worries.

The line that I like the most is "What am I to tell my clients?" That is a wacky idea Hitler with clients. My least favorite line "Satlin is still using film."

Claire,

That quip about Stalin is rooted in history and practicality.

My boy was in the Navy a few years back and he came upon a "space age" (60's) joke about how we do things, east vs west.

When the space race started the "West", America and the high-tech revolution, spent millions (as I remember, it's been a while  ) to make a pen that would write upside down or in space.

The "East" Russia simply used pencils.

I remember that pen and the joke from my childhood and thinking how backward they were and how much superior we were. The context has changed for me.

I love pencils and paper, they are the basic analog equivalents of a word processor and Corel painter and a CAD program for under $1. Pens by contrast, regardless of the cost are; inelegant, uncorrectable, they skip (create noise), and are not easily reparable.

This same video ran last year just before the Superbowl with different subtitles. Hitler was ranting about how the Giants had stolen the playoffs from his team. Still funny.

This one is good but the best one was a series using many scenes in the movie making light of the financial meltdown on wall street. I think it was called The Spiral. Very funny.

HOLY CRAP! That was great. I always took Hitler for the Sony type anyway, Axis and all.
