It was concurrent with the one you know as last. He shoulda known better than to take on two heavy hitters at once.

I'm trying to forget that one!

I'll talk to Mark Osterman about a color workshop. We should have done this in 2009 when Sir Robert Hunt was here. He is the expert.

I missed that thread. Do you have a link to it? I know I participated in his last thread, but I missed this one.

The two letter troll would misunderstand a posting due to plain ignorance or not understanding the American culture and Americanisms. Then he would then jump to the wrong conclusion and viciously attack the poster. He always had to have the last word and was quite a nasty piece of work. His primary targets were myself followed by PE.

Several years before, I had seen the two letter troll get himself thrown out of the www.hasselbladinfo.com for this same pathology. [My ex is a psychologist and she taught me how to profile people, so I figured out his buttons.]

After two or three years of my tolerating his attacks, the two letter troll got especially vicious with me on a thread. So when someone asked in the thread what was all this $#!+ about. I posted his pathology and asked how his "ways " worked out for him at www.hasselbladinfo.com. His response:

- [name redacted] And re that forum thing: before you begin casting silly dispersions about other people, make sure you know what you are talking about.

I responded with

I certainly do. I watched the train wreck coming for the year leading up to it. Why do you think I did not post my psychological profile of you?

So ….
Are these chromatic dispersions, polarization dispersions, or is it a magenta tint ala the dreaded Kodak has deleted Kodachrome?

Are you having Optical delusions?

Are you having Chromatic delusions?

Are you having Polarization delusions?

Then I posted on the Kodak has deleted Kodachrome thread, where he was adamant that magenta is not a color and he had attacked PE, "There are those who say that megenta is not a color" knowing that he would go ballistic. He did and in 24 hours he was banned.

My bad :whistling:

Have know idea who the two leter troll was, but he sure reminds me of an abnoxious and insulting know it all named Scott something or other who used to attack regularly over on the PNet Film Forums. He went digital, then seems to have fallen off the cliff of (posting) oblivion. He knew a lot, and sometimes had good points, but was just plain obnoxius.

He also had very good information and contribution to give, and was very patient and informative with me regarding a certain concept which I failed to understand.

Adultery might be a grave offence, but stoning is inhuman, too. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We all fall prey of misunderstandings, useless quarrels, and nominalistic polemics now and then. This case of magenta only revolved around the definition of "colour" IIRC. And if this user was banned (was he?), then I don't think it's the case to crucify him here, at his back.

NOT Scott.
The two letter troll was knowledgeable about one particular camera family.

It would seem the "Kodak retires kodachrome" thread is permanently gone and unaccessible.

It was mostly 3,000+ posts about
  • anger and disappointment that Kodak was dropping a line that had been loosing money for a while
  • Kodak was bleeding to keep the film going to get to 75 years
  • PE repeatedly explaining the he had actually worked on Kodachrome, Kodachrome 400 had been developed but never marketed due to lack of interest
  • PE repeatedly explaining how many layers Kodachrome had and that it was much harder to make than other color slide film
  • PE repeatedly explaining Kodachrome was hard to develop in a lab much less at home
  • and "Hey like lets form a group and we will make Kodachrome behind my Daddy's barn in Grandma's cesspool!"

...
  • and of course the troll screaming that "Magenta is not a color"

And who was it that wanted to chain me up in a barn and make me re-create Kodachrome? I could never do it nor would I ever want to!

And I had to repeatedly explain all of that because the thread was so long no one knew I had already posted it. again!

I'm glad I never bothered to open that thread.

Some people on here worry me. I can just imagine people using waterboarding to try make you confess all of Kodak's secrets that you're apparently holding onto. Something along the lines of "it puts the lotion on the skin or it gets the hose again."

I am discussing the issue of a workshop with Mark Osterman. It would be about color as seen and photographed and would cover the entire field in a 3 day (estimated length) series showing examples and discussing color and color photography. It would have to go on the 2013 schedule.

Any interest? Now is the time to get it on the new GEH schedule.

This is negotiable with GEH I think. IDK. Most run M, T, W. Mark and I have been discussing a presubscription workshop where the students choose the date and then sign up. I'm just now starting to think this through as is Mark. He is busy packing for the workshop at Laycock Abbey in England. We may not be able to answer all questions until he gets back.

That would have to be taken up by potential students with GEH. At present, Mark and I have discussed making a set of DVDs for sale by GEH in order to satisfy a customer need. Just discussion only. GEH is a museum with most of their revenues coming in via workshops, donations and visitors. Putting on a workshop costs them money in utilities and manpower as well as ancillary items. I believe that they would lose money if they did as you suggest.

I think selling DVD's is an excellent idea.

I would be interested particularly if I can schedule it to visit the falls too!

Since this is three days of seminar, what did you intend to cover?

Give me a break. I'm still surprised that there is sufficient interest. I'll get back to you on this.

But, which falls? High Falls, Letchworth Falls, or Niagara Falls or all 3? :D
