Hello !

I need some expert advice please !, as I have decided to go back to art school for a year to do my MA in photography and need to supply an edited portfolio which contains a set of 20 prints (A2 size) with my application.

I am thinking of hiring and / or leasing an A2 printer for completing this task "in-house" , as I really need to get the prints looking the way I need them to !
(alas, I expect to allocate at least several sets of B&W inks and paper types to fine tuning my prints).

Any kind advice and expertise on DIY B&W Fine Art printing will be very appreciated

Thanking you in advance,

Kind Regards,

Richard

Richard,

I would highly reccomend that you join the

DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com

group and seek their advice. Some of the members there are probably some of the top minds in the fine art digital inkjet arena, not the least of which is Tyler Boley, Paul Roark, John Dean and Jon Cone.

Ditto. You can find superb advice there...

Now, let's come to the real reason I'm writing this: 20 "A2" prints for portfolio evaluation!? What kind of university is that? "Bring one of your shows w/ big prints." would be a better phrased request!!!

Regards,
Loris.

Actually Loris that is very much the norm these days for portfolio reviews. Not unusual at all.

Uhm, I see the keyword "not exceed" for print count and size requirements -> so, it's your decision to go up to the max... Anyway, good luck!

The images in question are actually all full frame squares, which have been shot on monochrome medium format film with the the Hassleblad V system.

The intended printed area size wont actually be very big when printed - as its a square print that will have to fit into the rectangle A2 frame size

Kind Regards,
Richard.
