high contrast developer fomula needed

To get a satisfying print of a certain negative I would like to try a second bath in developer which gives a higher contrast. Can anybody give me the formula for Dokumol or something working in a similar way?

I don't know a formula to propose, but maybe you don't need any. There are ways to achieve higher contrast from print developers:

1) Use lower dilution. For example, if the "normal" is 1+9, try 1+4.
2) Add Sodium (or Potassium) Carbonate.

Both of these will increase the pH of the print developer, resulting in higher contrast. Additionally, some selenium toning could be beneficial.

What are you using now? If Dektol or
equivalent you've now nearly as much
contrast as is possible. Dan

Sodium Sulfite anhyd . . 40 g
hydroquinone . . . . . . . 12 g
Sodium Carbonate . . . . 80 g
Potassium Bromide . . . . 2 g
Distilled Water to . . . . .1 L

Described as "contrast developer for the Brom, Brom Extra and Neobrom papers"

Recommended to use at 1:3 for 2-3 min.

If that's not feisty enough, try it less diluted or try it straight.

For your application, D-19 or Dektol would probably work well.
