HIE Troubles

I just finished a roll of Kodak HIE film. I am used to Konica IR750, which was discontinued just as I was getting good at it ...

Anyway, I metered the scene at ISO 50 without a filter, and shot at the reccomended speed with the filter on. Development was 9 minutes at 20c with (quite depleted) developer.

Almost all of hte IR shots on the roll are terribly overexposed (i had to look clearly on a few of them to tell that they were not fully black. Oddly, only the shots that I'd taken outside at night under artificial light came out well. Does anyone have any reccomendations for correct exposure of htis film?

I'll try to post scans of the negs. when I can; I'm not sure if some of hte shots are printable, but they can be pulledout digitally.

What filter did you use?

Try the standard f/11 and 1/125 second on a sunny day. (Dont worry about what the meter says, it's calibrated for visible light, not IR anyway.)

The filter is a Hoya RM72.

I realize that the meter is callibrated for visible; but it worked OK for Konica IR. I guess that HIE is a completely different animal ...
