I have been shooting film for about 50 years now, I shot weddings in the 70's in to the 90's on a Bronica S2A 6x6, I used to do all my own film and darkroom processing until I was to busy so then started to use my local Lab that was great.
I carried on with it right up to digital and tried to sell all my darkroom gear, but at the time nobody was interested it it. I stored it all away in my attic, it was up there up until I retired and now it's all setup and being used again in a spare small bedroom, that was my original darkroom until my family grew.
I am so pleased it never sold as my passion for all types of Photography has now grown stronger than ever, I have about 40 differnt types and formats of camera's 98% film camera's, 3 or 4 4x5 and a pinhole one across a age group of 100 years.
I try to use most of them in the year to keep things moving. I love B/White and also Infrared.

Just scanning some slides I did on Kodchrome with my Bronica SQAi, they have come out nice. I have also just loaded up some expired 24 year old Fuji Velvia 4x5 to shoot when I get some decent weather here in the UK.
I have joined lots of Photography forums as I love seeing other photographers work and discussion, either professional or amateur, I class myself as a amateur as I started off as a hobby, as my profession was engineering.

Good on you. I regret selling a big chunk of my stuff when I took a 10 year break from film photography. Digital photography never much inspired me or could catch my attention. Now I am back to it just like you. Welcome to Photrio, there is a wealth of knowledge here.

If you're enthusiastic about making prints and about seeing prints made by others, the Postcard Exchange might be something you're interested in. The more the merrier.

Welcome to Photrio!

We are about the same age. When I was a teenager I wanted the Bronica S in the worst way. As an adult I ended up settling for Hasselblads.

sirius-glass I have a Hasselblad 500CM with a couple of lenses, but I prefer to shoot other camera's like my Pentax 645N11 or my Bronica SAQAi, I also have a RZ6x7 that I like to shoot with. I like the big old heavy Camera's I have a few , a Pentacon 6 and a Kiev 60, all great to use with incredible lenses like the Zeiss 50mm F/4 Flektogon and the Zeiss Jena 180mm. But as I get older they are not easy to carry around now..

Hello, what is your reason to prefer Bronica over Hassy
