Hi all, my name is Pete and I'm a trucker by profession. I've owned an Olympus OM1n since 1982 and have recently purchased an OM2n, OM10 and OM20 plus accessories with a view to getting back into some film photography.

Pete

Welcome to APUG, Pete. You must really like the Olympus cameras. I understand that they're excellent.

Welcome from a fellow truck driver with a penchant for Minolta gear but I do own and use an Olympus OM-1 and a 2n.

Where are you from Pete?

I spent most of my time on the road with my old Rebel and a K1000. My "Trees" picture was taken at a lime plant where I picked up a load.

Pete - hello and welcome to APUG.

Welcome to the family. My wife's dad is a retired OTR driver.

Hello Pete. Welcome from across the herring pond.

Hello Pete,am also a fellow trucker, mostly used my Hasselblad and 4x5 speed Graphic in my truck. Welcome aboard.

I could just imagine a 4x5 on a dash mount in my old Mack. That'd be a hoot.

Spacer, never got around to mounting it on dash , but thought about mounting a ELM Hassey on the roof of the cab pointing ahead, every time you pull the horn chain it will fire off a few shots, never got around to it.

Thanks for the greetings folks. I'm over here in the UK.

Pete

A good friend of mine who has been a sort of mentor for me with film shot a full Olympus system back in the day. I almost went to an Olympus E5 pro DSLR system because of him then found a Canon EOS 35mm for next to nothing and well, yeah I need to find cheaper hobbies.

So Pete, you drive a lorry instead of a truck. Maybe you could explain why in the UK you call them lorry's?

I have no idea where the term came from, personally I prefer to call it a truck.

Hi Pete welcome to APUG. I drove a truck back in the 70s and used a Minolta SR-T101. Still have many pics from the trucking days and it was all film then. Hope to make an album of all the trucking pics someday.
