Hello I'm very new here, having just discovered the site yesterday. I'm sure I am going to enjoy reading the posts and hopefully participating in some of the discussions. I can already see this is a very active and enthusiastic group!

Anyway, I just thought I would introduce myself. I'm a UK photographer and dedicated to black and white photography using traditional methods. I work in mainly 35mm, but am increasingly using medium format. I have for a long time specialised in infrared photography, which I love because of the dreamlike quality that can be achieved.

I photograph mainly landscapes and elements within the environment...but also enjoy working in other areas too.

Printing all my own work is very important to me, giving me the freedom to interpret my images in a personal way, sometimes using toning, lith printing and hand colouring techtechniques to help portray mood, and create emphasis in my work.

Hmmm....well that's about all I can think of to say right now, other than that it is great to find a group like this.

Hello Kathy, welcome. We shall certainly enjoy your infrared and toning input. Where have you been to have only just found out about us ? Make sure you spread the word !

Welcome Kathy from the South West, maybe you could give us a plug at your talks and enlighten more of the analog world

Welcome Kathy. I'm new here too so it's great to have another new face. I'm sure you'll find APUG quite addictive.
Kind regards from West Australia
Nicole

hi there Kathy from another southern-English type.

Hi Kathy from the frozen north... (Well, actually it's the damp and murky north at the moment, but you get the general idea!)

Welcome to APUG and yes, as Nicole says, it's very addictive!

Wecome Kathy, I'm an admirer of your work, and have a copy of your book on my shelf. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome Kathy!
I am dieing to get a look at your photos as I am fascinated with IR and landscapes in general! This is a great place to find info, meet new people (and a few old stale people), and really interact with others who share a common love...real photography!

Wow!

May I thank you all for such a lovely warm welcome...you made me feel very at home! It's good to hear there are some keen infrared users here

And Dave...thanks for your kind words and also for posting the details about my book.

To TPPhotog...I would be very happy to give the group a mention at my lectures.

I shall try and get some pictures up soon, I am hoping to build a website sometime in the future as well.

This is a very active group...it is going to take me a long while to catch up with all the messages, but I shall try.

Many thanks again

Kathy
