Hi, my name is Val and am from Washington state. I just started taking and developing my own photos as of last fall when I signed up for a Black and White photo class. I found I love being in the darkroom (if it could be classified as such  ) and am more than excited to continue to learn. Hint being; HELP. :D

Welcome Val, from just up the road in British Columbia, Canada.

I visit the Mount Vernon/Burlington area rather regularly.

Welcome from Texas!

Hi Val! I'm dangling a bit below Alaska's panhandle...welcome aboard

Welcome Val -- I had a similar experience to yours. Once I started working in the darkroom, it took my photographic interests (and level) to an entirely different level. This is a great place to learn whatever you need to know.

Welcome from just a little bit south of where you are: Portland, Oregon.

I have been to your town a few times. I once took a train trip to Mt. Vernon and then the bus to Anacortes, the ferry to Orcas Island, and then bicycled all around. I love that part of Washington.

darkrooms are beautiful

Yes that is where much of the beauty of photography is. My favorite moments in photography are meeting and interacting with the people I photograph and working in the darkroom. The magical moment when the print develops and the even more magical moment when you turn on the white light and see the print for the first time in the fix or wash, GREAT GREAT FEELING! A SUPER HIGH!

I made my darkroom into the most comfortable room in the house, it is designed well with all I need, am surrounded by my photographs on the walls and music for every mood.
