I've been poking around for a couple months and I think it's about time to introduce myself. I'm Kuyler McComas, a 17 year old photographer from Milton, West Virginia in the United States. As egotistical as it seems to make a thread just to introduce myself, everyone else does it too, so I guess it's okay!
I've been enjoying photography since I was a little kid - my grandpa had great books of photography and always had the Ansel Adams calendars, too. I personally started photography the backwards way; I really like to mess with computers, and my drive to create something on the computer lead to permanently borrowing my parents' digital camera when I was about twelve.
My love for film grew out of necessity. A few years ago I needed to do some star trail photography and my D40x couldn't expose for more than 30 minutes. I bought a Nikon n6006 three years ago and immediately fell in love with film. And I've still never shot any good star trails.
I still shoot a good amount of digital. As a high-schooler, I'm in situations where I have to turn shots out really quickly, whether for the newspaper or yearbook or whatever. But my passion is for film.
I've really enjoyed the conversations I've read here so far. I love to learn about anything related to something I love so much.
