Agfa Aviphot Pan 80 is also the basis film for ADOX HR-50. But ADOX have legitimately modified it for a better pictorial curve, through a proprietary process. It's likely pre-flashed, but we don't know for sure.
Yes, it's a better film because of whatever ADOX is doing to it. But it's also based on Aviphot Pan 80. Read this post:I know that speculation. That maybe true, maybe not. So far I have not seen a 100% evidence. But if it is, no problem at all for me, it doesn't really matter, as Adox has implemented a really visible improvement. That counts for me, the result, and the benefit for me as a user.
I just want to fulfill a wish by some forum members and a moderator:
Here is the list of current repackaged (rebranded) Agfa Aviphot Pan 80 and 200 films and Kentmere 100 and 400 films:
Agfa Aviphot Pan 80:
Repackaged as Rollei Retro 80s and Rollei RPX 25.
Agfa Aviphot Pan 200:
Repackaged as Rollei Superpan 200, Rollei Retro 400s, Rollei Infrared 400, Silberra Pan 160 / Ultima 160, Silberra Pan 100 / Ultima 100, CatLabs 320 Pro and JCH Street Pan.
Kentmere 100 and 400:
Repackaged as AgfaPhoto APX 100 and 400, Rollei RPX 100 and 400, Fotoimpex CHM 100 and 400 (discontinued), Oriental 100 and 400.
Proven by countless experienced photographers who have tested these films in direct comparison (me included), and partly by the companies themselves (e.g Fotoimpex has been honest about their CHM films).
I'm a regular Rollei RPX 400 and Kentmere 400 user and not sure if RPX400 is the same as Kentmere 400 At least today.
Also, Aviphot 200 emulsion formulation is share by multiple Rollei films but they some have different film base (Superpan 200 has clear triacetate while Retro 400s is polyester base).
Did you check it, or did you read the MACO leaflets?...

The data sheets MACO provides are not worth the paper they are printed on. They do not contain reliable data, but only halucinations from the marketing experts.
The Superpan 200 (120), I did purchase in May 2022 still had same filmbase as Infrared 400 and Retro 400S.
...
Had Maco changed the film recently? Maybe, I would not generally exclude that. As they are often changing their pruducts or suppliers without any information to the customers.
Maybe there is a need for new comparison tests.......
...
The Superpan 200 base I used looked different to me. I may be wrong. Talking about my own experience here.
You can very easily test it by yourself: Take the beginning of the film and try to tear it with your bare hands:
With triacetate no problem.
But with PET impossible!
Thanks for that list, Film-Niko Great info for all of us. While not everyone may accept this list or at least have some doubts as we have seen, it is the kind of post that is worth repeating every time we have another thread on who makes what
Very useful for any newcomers who have little knowledge of this subject and who can be easily confused, including some not so new comers like me
I am copying your post for future reference

Thank you, good to read. Then I have made at least one photrio member happy.
Although Maco and some other may not be as happy
More than one I would sayThanks indeed.

Rollei retro 80s shot at EI 80 look quite underexposed, so i'm not that surprised it could be sold with a lower box speed, but regarding Aviphot 200, films advertised from 100 to 400 ISO, with one infrared, being the same thing ?
Thanks !
On this note, does anyone know if Aviphot 40 is being rebranded or available under other name? Got hold of some respooled 120 rolls and really like it but would like to get some steady source of it.
Not that I am aware of.
Problem would also be that Aviphot Pan 40 is only produced as PE0 version on a 0.06 millimeter base. That is very thin and probably too thin for a proper use in 135 and 120 photo film.
Although Maco and some other may not be as happy
