guys I have a problem with my new timer
I have it plugged into my enlarger. If for example I want to set the timer to 5 seconds for a test strip. When I turn the dial to 5 seconds the lamp comes straight on without giving me time to make sure I'm at 5 seconds.
How do I set the time and then press something to start the clock??
Thanks

Neil

I don't have this timer but from videos it would appear that the "on/off" switch should be off to start. If it's on to start, then it behaves as you described.

Thanks man. I've got it sorted now. I will continue to use this until such time as I can buy a proper enlarger timer.

That is a good enlarge timer. Use the switched power outlet on the left side. The digital timers allow more precision in the setting by allow tenths of seconds, but the added value is not that great IMNSHO.

If you are using that timer, it would probably help to aim for longer enlarging times.
It is difficult to make a small change to the density of a print if each increment is at least 20% (1 second out of 5).
I've seen a lot of Gralab timers in my day. That one is unique - almost modern!
