I have a mamiya 330 kit that I've bult up over the years and I love it dearly.
But I have a very strong yearning for a Nikon f5 and the means to purchase one would mean my selling my mamiya gear.

I know this isn't the place to put adverts and that's not my reason for posting. What I'm wondering is, is it better to ask for a trade on here or split the kit up and offer it seperately?

There is the body which is in good condition. Its just recently been cla'd and had all the light seals replaced. Everything is in full working order.
The lens on body is the 80mm f2.8bluedot.
The lens on the far left is the 65mm f3.5
There is the body cap for when the lenses are stored.
Remote shutter release, a Sekonic light meter and on the far right the Paramender 2. Behind that is the handgrip which the leather is tatty on.

I've not seen a setup like this for sale on e**y.

A complete kit appears occasionally, but usually people get a better premium for their gear
when sold as individual pieces. Below are some suggestions, with some starting/reserve prices.

These are average US [starting] prices. In the UK or Europe, add 25-40%.
For some international markets and Australia/NZ, these prices can often be doubled.

Camera w/80mm lens: $255.00
The 65mm lens: $110.00
Paramender: $55.00
Handgrip: $25.00
Sekonic: $35.00

From your one picture, your kit appears in very good condition.

it is a nice kit, not sure about your reasons going back to 35mm, but you will not get as good of the pictures with Nikon F5... Just my 2 cents.

Frankly, I'd keep the Mamiya kit. Look at Nikon the F100 instead of the plus-size F5. They're going for very little on the big auction site now. Just check the "Completed" listings.

I agree with CGW, I would keep that nice Mamiya kit. The F5 is a great camera, but there are other options. The F75 has an awesome metering system and will work with the latest Nikon VR lenses. The N80 serves me well in this regard also, and both units can be purchased for well under a hundred dollars.

I would keep the kit too, the money you will get for it will not go far on your purchase. And you will lose a wonderful kit. I recently got rid of my Mamiya C3 that I used for many years, and my C220, but I kept my C330f. I do not use it much anymore, but it is there if I want it.

I'd keep the Mamiya also. I have a C330f and an F5 and if I had to get rid of one it would be ther F5, incredible camera though it is. Personally, I'd get a Nikon F80 instead. It doesn't have some of the features of the F5 but it has other really useful things (such as on-demand viewfinder grid lines) which the F5 lacks; it's also light - some might say plasticky - which the F5 most definitely isn't. In fact with a standard lens in situ, the F5 weighs almost the same as my C330f with its WLF finder in place.

I have a C330S outfit, also Nikon gear. As to what camera to get rid of...it all depends on what kind of photography you do......if it's mainly landscape, portraiture, weddings etc., stick with the Mamiya. If you want to do wildlife, sport, photojournalism, any kind of action stuff...then the F5 is a better choice.
