Help with my dilemma..

The metal foil shutter curtains more likely then not weigh considerably less than the cloth ones that replaced them.
Justr because things are made of metal doesn't mean they are heavy.

So say if I were to change my entire system, will changing into a Bronica be recommended? Was looking at the S2A but it's heavy too isn't it..

I'm a casual shooter too! So I don't mind not having 6x7 since I don't do prints..

Man, an RB is a lot of camera for web and small album prints. Have you considered a smaller format? You could get by with 135 SLR or DSLR, I would think.

Why use any film at all, let alone medium format? We all love film here...but come on now. For web only, is the analog to digital conversion process really worth it? If shooting for small prints for albums, 35mm will be more than plenty of quality, and digital might just do the trick alright, depending on the pix.....

I do have a 35mm but I thought of moving up the format to get better quality pictures and experience medium format on a higher level. I own a Lubitel 166 but having an SLR MF is a lovely experience. Enjoyed shooting with the RB67 except it's weight when I'm climbing hills or traveling a long distance.

But didn't expect the digital part coming.

For the web, $100 P&S digital cheapo or your phone camera.

For prints n film in your situation, Bronica ETRS.The ETRS is the lady of MF. It's palm sized, built like a small tank, has great optics, balanced just right and half the weight of an RB all in a 645 package.

If you want to use the ETRS for action, get the speed grip and a focusing lever from a Kowa,Koni Omega or Hassy (either will fit on your lenses)

Is an SLR necessary, then; why not a MF RF instead?

Yeah I got a simple P&S camera.

And I want to shoot 6x6 that's why i skipped the ETRS. Didn't like the SQ series because it was electronic. Like my cameras mechanical. And if i use them for action it will be taking pictures of my friend skating. Therefore i'll get a fisheye in the future.

That's why i'm looking/wanting at a Kiev 88CM so badly. But everytime i do more research, more bad rep comes up. And I too looked at the Bronica S2A. But if i'm not wrong, there's no fisheye for them right?

It looks like a Hasselblad is the right way to go but $2000 for a fisheye is wayyyyy out of my league.


Want a MR SLR so that i can do interchangeble backs and switch film types halfway. Plus lens choices are lovely.

Well Then get an arax modified kiev 88. Then at least you know that it will be a good working camera.
