Hello! I am attempting to do a ribbon
replacement and cla on a Kiev ii and will be doing a Contax ii I own later on aswell. I am done with installing the ribbons to correct length (approx 110mm) and I’ve sewed the ribbons the correct way and installed the rollers as well. HOWEVER I have several issues i seem to be unable to work around since i can’t find a solution in any tutorial/guide:
1. The top and bottom curtain move at the same time when would and at the release of the shutter button, and instead of making a hole for the exposure they both move together (at a slower pace than normal)
2. When winding the camera it seems that it gets ”ready to fire” when it’s not supposed to and the winding stops. I have to then press the shutter button to set it free and wind again.
3. The curtains move in a very limited way and the curtain doesn’t get through the whole cycle, rather I have to pull it up to the trigger shoe and then release it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as repairing these cameras has become my passion project. Thank you!
