Just purchased a used Yashica Samurai 35mm half frame camera, and i am unable to get the film to load up. I have looked at the manual and directions inside the cover and pulled the film both up to and past the orange line but both times the film failed to advance.
I do get a blinking film roll icon on the LCD screen. Nothing seems to work because the film will not load, if i take the film out everything works again.

Any ideas?

I have a Samurai Z and tried to cause problems but was mostly successful loading.

I assume you tucked the tip of the film down under the orange line, down into the body towards the take-up spool.

I found one time the film didn't load when there was too much tension, or the cassette was a bit tilted. After closing the back I heard a slight buzz of the advance, but the film icon disappeared (not a blinking film). And the film didn't wind at all.

I moved the cassette around a bit and made sure film came out of the cassette easily, then it loaded properly.

Do you hear the take-up drum rotating (to catch the film)?

Yes I can hear the motor spin like it wants to advance the film leader into a starting position.

Is the tiny hook on the drunm OK?
Seems the roller that presses the film onto the rum OK?
Is the film leader OK?

Still have not been been able to get a roll of film to feed. I did change the internal 2025 battery to see if that had anything to do with it but still no luck.
