Hello,

I recently won a lens off ebay, and can't get the seller to answer my emails. It's been 4 days now, and I'm unsure what to do. I remember there being an option for getting someone's phone number or alternative contact info off ebay, and was curious if anyone remembers how to do it. Also, how long would you wait before giving up? Thanks.

If your the winner, all you have to do is request their contact information and ebay will send you what ever information they have one file, I normally wait over a week before I start to do anything, and most times, if they don't respond, I move on to the next auction, its not worth the time and effort to force someone to sell something to me, there was a thread about this just about two weeks ago..

Four days isn't so unusual. I like to resolve things quickly, but I don't start worrying about until it's been around 10 days.

Four days isn't excessive. It's not great either.

Is it a new seller? Or somebody with a long history? New sellers can be kind of slow sometimes.

Or it might just be real life getting in the way of things. Stuff happens. Or it could just be the person is having computer problems.

There may be a good reason why the sellers not been in contact.

I assume you read his payment & shipping requirements and your not suddenly saying you'll pay in a different way, or require shipping outside of what was listed.

Sometimes people renage on their sales - I won great slide copier last year, low price - high postageit never arrived, on chasing things up the seller blamed someone else who was supposed to have posted the item, he gave a full refund, then changed his ID on Ebay

Another pulled an item I'd bid on with 2 minutes to go, he'd set no reserve, in this case a complaint to Ebay and the next day Ebay UK changed their terms to stop a seller withdrawing an item in the last 24hrs, unless the reason could be proved to be genuine.

We don't know the seller in your case and what his feedback history is like, you must take this in to account in deciding what to do
