I'm not sure if you saw my previous post, but I've been contacted by an Adobe engineer who would like to help create a tool that will find and eliminate dust and scratches on film scans. It uses AI and machine learning so it needs to be trained to do this. You can help by submitted before and after images of film scans that have been dusted in PS or whatever software you use. There are detailed instructions in the link.

Keep in mind this is purely a technical exercise, your images will not be published or shared in any way.

If you want to be a champ, another way to do this is to make a scan with ICE off, and another with ICE on, and submit the results. But otherwise manual dusting is just fine.

Thank you all for your help in advance! If we can put a man on the moon, we can train a computer to dust images for us.

These examples are 100% crops - with and without ICE, but are assembled together as one image. Good enough to submit as is?

Is there any specific time limit for this? I could provide some images but it might take a week or two to find the time.

The project is going to be ongoing. The way a system like this works is, the more data you have, the better it works.
