figure out what the filter diameter is and get a generic cap. they are fine and a ton cheaper.
Might be worth watching Ebay for one of these. Hopefully this 3D model is correct?
A standard lens cap isn't ideal .
Most of the covers on these Minolta point and shoots cameras also incorporate a shutter lock .
When you wind the film on , as you tend to do by habit after taking a shot , the shutter button is ready to be pressed again . No on or off switch .
So put the camera in your bag or pocket , and it'll take a picture as the button gets pressed .
You'll also be draining the battery as the AF is engaged .
The 3d printed item linked to engages the shutter lock to prevent accidentally taking a shot .
A regular lens cap doesn't.
I was looking at the auction, nothing came up for just the cover only, normal it comes with the camera, I will keep looking before I opt for the 3D print, I need to go to the local library take a refresher course first before letting me print.
I had surprising success with Chat GPT to create printable stl files. If you can describe the shape in words, it will create the .stl for you without design software! I was amazed.
Mshchem had provided me with the link from Printables thank you, the file is ready to be downloaded, I try the auction first , if not , 3D printing will be my last resort.
