Hi all I was wondering if anyone could help me. I recently purchased an untested Polaroid Now camera on eBay and I received it and it does not work (saw that coming but that's what you get) I was wondering if It is possible to get this one working or if there is anything I can try out. The item did not come with a charger but I have tried about 3 or 4 different USB to USB but there is no indication of the camera charging (No LED light shows it charging above the port) and there is no sign of life at all. Do you think there is anything I can try for this one?

Thank you, If I can actually manage to fix this camera you might be seeing a lot more from me 😄

I would if I had hands on experience with your camera, but I do not make any recommendations about equipment that I do not have significant hands on experience.

I've put this up for the mods to move to the Camera Repair section, where you'll hopefully get more attention.

I hope I'm wrong, but the USB connection, charging circuit and lithium cell(s) are likely to be hard to source or expensive (or both). If you're lucky, it's just a bad wire connection...

Yeah, but since it's about an instant camera, it might work here as well. If @Lemonsurprise wants us to move it, we'll do so. Also, welcome to Photrio, lemonsurprise!

As to your camera, I'm afraid further repair options would involve opening up the camera and start poking around with a DMM on the circuit board the USB charging connector is on, and then try to trace the problem from there. It's not a particularly good prognosis.

Ah I didn't see the camera repair section so if you could move it to there that would be okay as I am sure there is more activity on that page generally than the instant camera category. As for a DMM getting myself one of those would probably cost more than what I paid total for the camera itself 😄 all I have access to is a soldering iron which I am OK with if it's a simple job. There doesn't seem to be any easy way to open this camera up to take a look inside, no screws on the outside etc. They probably made it difficult to open for a reason.

I got a basic DMM at Harbor Freight not long ago for $17. If you paid less than that for the camera, I'd suggest you re-bait your hook and toss your line in again.
