I like doing alot of close up shots, anything from standard portrait distance, down to 1:1 lifesize. I'm used to having my Canon FTb with a microprism spot, and I just picked up a standard Microprism/Split combination screen for my Digital Rebel, now I Want to get something other than the flat matte screen for my Canon EOS-1 film body. Having a manual focus screen is important to me because I use a variety of manual-only lens such as the tamron adaptalls which I can adapt to my EOS cameras, or my FD camera, or my M42 mamiya cameras.

What focus screen might you guys recomend particularly for close up down to 1:1 macro. The lens I use on either cameras are.

Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Adaptall-2 1:1 Macro
Tamron 28mm f/2.5 Adaptall
Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 Di (EOS only)
Canon 50mm f/1.8 (EOS only)
Tamron 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 Adaptall-2 1:2 macro

The couple I was looking at (all the same price for me)

EC-L - Cross Split (seemed interesting, a 4 way split prism, seeing as split prisms are usually very bright in the middle I can just line them up and see the light rather well)

EC-I - Matte w/ Double Cross Hair Reticle, not sure if this is any diff than the EC-L

Ec-A - A straight microprism, I'm aiming towards this for macro but not sure.

And I'm not sure if the Ec-S (Super Precision Matte for f/2.8 or faster lens) would do me any good at all.

Any advice, tips, etc?
