This may be in vain but I would like to reach out to the analog community members in Cambodia (Phnom Penh/Siem Reap) or Vietnam (Hanoi).

I purchased a Mamiya 7 43mm from eBay in late March and it has finally reached me here in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where I am working for the summer. Sadly, I opened the box to find that the front tube of the lens could turn on its axis by about 3 degrees, and also wobbles, by about 1-2mm. This is an obvious defect since my 65 and 80 lenses are rock solid.

My Leica 21/3.4 also developed a bit of play in the front tube, wobbling 1-2mm up and down, but not side to side.

I will be getting the 43mm resolved with the seller, but in the mean time, I was hoping to verify if both lenses retain their optical integrity. I was wondering if anyone here in Cambodia, either Phnom Penh or Siem reap knows of a place that develops 135 or 120 film, OR, has the equipment to process film (and a scanner/loupe), OR has a digital body on which to mount the 21/3.4 to test it. Additionally, I will also be going to Hanoi, Vietnam soon, so if anyone there could be of assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

I can't help you with specifics on your issue, but I'd recommend (especially given the two cameras you're talking about) also posting this over on Rangefinder Forum. I know there are a bunch of photo geeks in your general part of the world who hang out on RFF and might be better able to help.

The good thing is that symptoms like that are usually loose screw or a collar of some sort.
