I'm the photographer for the University of Michigan Photo Services office. We're having a surplus equipment sale before our office is relocated on campus and I've been put in charge of selling a wide range of gear. I have a Wollensak lens and I need to find it a new home.
My problem is this: I can't seem to find much information on this 80-year old lens, particularly a sense of its value. I've looked through the Wollensak catalog posted on cameraeccentric, but I'd really love to hear from anyone with experience using this lens...or anyone that might have a copy of McKeown's laying around who would look it up for me.
It's a Wollensak Series IIIa f/12.5 Ex. W.A. in a Betax 4 shutter. The lens is in beautiful shape with no scratches or growth and hardly any dust. The shutter operates cleanly and--as best as I can tell--is firing accurately and consistently.
