Perhaps you should start a 'How many tripods do you own?' thread!
Steve.
Dear Steve,

Nah. There's a lot of historical accident; at least half a dozen gifts; and besides, even though I could probably count my tripods -- I wasn't counting most of the table-top variety -- I can't see any reason to do so.

Cheers,

Roger

.... do you gents use a tripod even around the cities, shooting architecture lets say? Do you ever get hassled for it ....
Dear Pavel,

Not often, so far. In Paris the gendarme waited until I had the shot of the Arc de Triomphe (on 4x5 inch) before drifting over and telling me that I really ought to have a permit...

Cheers,

R.

PCAT is Pyrocat-HD-you can find it in the recipes section , or on unblinking eye.com (catechol+phenidone/metol based). Agree with Neopan 400/rodinal tip-have used it many times with 35mm.

Beware of those who swear by film coated by Romanian virgins at full moon, and processed in a mixture of adder venom and humming-bird blood, because a lot of the time, they're getting good results despite their materials, not because of them.
Cheers,

Roger

Drat. That's two illusions shattered you've shattered. The other you callously poured cold water over was herding cats which admittedly I was more sceptical about than coating with Romanian virgins.

The epitaph reads: He tried to infect the photographic race with commonsense but found that the species to be infuriatingly resistant at times.

Snake oil rules OK
