I had a D6 for a while, and it's a quite a nice enlarger. As for color head diffusion enlarging, that's all that I do for medium format and 4x5. I have a Zone VI enlarger with a Beseler adapter that enables me to enlarge with a Beseler 45s.
Color head diffusion enlarging is simple: Begin with no filtration. If greater contrast is needed, increase magenta. If less contrast is needed, increase yellow. Cyan stays at zero.
