So, my batteries died mid-exposure and now my mirror is stuck up and I can't get my lens off since the cocking pins are locked. I've tried replacing the batteries a couple times, but no luck. Any ideas as to how I can somehow get my lens off to put on my new body (SQ-a)? Thanks.

I assume the lens it is jammed on because the mirror is up so you need to get the mirror down to allow the lens lock to disengage... I assume that with new batteries it will not fire the shutter which would be the simplest way to get the mirror down. I wonder if you insert the darkslide and remove the back, if that will disable the lens lock? Try working the double-exposure or lock-up levers..

I know I've seen a solution to the same problem (on a non-M version) somewhere, but can't remember it and I haven't been able to google an answer...

Good luck, Bob.

Does the SQ-AM have a button on the motordrive to advance to the first frame like the motor for the SQ-Ai? If so, try hitting that (with fresh batteries, of course). You might also try putting it in multi-exposure mode and giving it a try. Let us know what happens...
